Tyrone is the hardest working designer I have ever known, in the office and at home. He is one of a kind that can work with just about anybody, and build a rapport effortlessly. He mentored nearly the entire junior staff at SXM, and originally only had one, but as the rest of the team found out how much he would work with you and help you in your career, everyone else migrated over to get his advice on an ongoing basis. Every time I did team evaluations, his name always was top of the list for internal and external teams to work with. The best thing I liked about working with Tyrone was that I learned from him all the time. Whether it was an easier way to do something in Axure or the best approach for a difficult client, he was my go-to person. I worked with Tyrone for 2 years at SiriusXM. While working with him, I quickly saw what kind of employee he was. He took on a great deal of responsibility while still having time to teach and mentor his colleagues. Even though he was lead on 3 major vehicle manufacturer teams, he still managed to improve the design of and test his projects. He led initiatives to talk to customers to help create more business problem statements. He presented to company stakeholders to help them understand the need, importance, and goals of a UX team. He quickly problem solved and made decisions and was often brought into meetings to mediate. Despite his amount of responsibility, he was humble in taking critique and group brainstorming. He taught me a lot about UX and how to handle such a large company. His advice helped me grow into a more mature professional and I will forever thank him for that! Tyrone has been with the R&D team as a lead UX designer and Voice UI expert since January 2019. He helped the team successfully launch the 7NOW Voice skills for Google Home and Alexa smart speakers, with his expertise in UX and passion to get it right. There are two major challenges in VUI design and development - the lack of visual representation and relatively short attention span of users, which require us to find innovative and likely unprecedented approaches. Tyrone embraced the challenges and devotedly worked with the team to get to the bottom of the issues.
